Your places, your account

CubaTry is a public map of places to eat and explore in Malaysia. You can browse without an account. Sign-in is needed to save bookmarks, write reviews, or add a place.

Information we use

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, name, and verified email address. If X or Facebook sign-in is available, we receive an account identifier and display name from that provider. We do not receive your provider password, and we do not keep provider access tokens after sign-in.

We store the places you add, approval requests, bookmarks, private itinerary dates and notes, uploaded place photos and credits, review scores and text, and the account identifier needed to keep them attached to you. A secure sign-in cookie keeps you signed in; the server stores a hash of its session token.

What other people can see

Your bookmarks and unshared pins are private to your account. Administrators can review places you submit for the public map. Once approved, the place details become visible to anyone browsing CubaTry. Review scores and text are also visible to visitors; CubaTry does not display your email address beside them.

Map and photo services

The map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. Venue photos and source links may load from other websites when you open a place. Those services may receive ordinary browser request information, such as your IP address. Their privacy practices are separate from CubaTry’s.

Choices and requests

You can remove your own pins and bookmarks in CubaTry. To request a copy of your account data or ask us to remove your account or reviews, email [email protected]. Removing an account from the active site may not immediately remove copies held in server backups.
